Budvar
People i met here who contributed to, and improved my trip:
I decided i did not want to leave Cesky Krumlov, so instead Cesky Budejovice made for an interesting day trip. This is the place that Budvar ( the real Budweiser ;) ) is brewed. I'd certainly recommend a trip to and tour of the brewery.... oh and the pub after, to make sure it tastes ok! The tour itself lasted about 90 minutes and you got to see the entire process that the beer went through, from brewing to bottling.
The town itself has a lovely photogenic central square and great views from the bell tower, which is just set back slightly from the square. If you like people watching, then this is the place to be. Buy a beer (or coffee), order some snacks, pull your book from your rucksack and watch the people float by!
