Brussel sprouts... from Brussels?
December 23, 2007
(I just wanted to put a random title. This blog doesn't have anything to do with brussel sprouts. Hehe.)
I was moody for the entire morning especially when waiting to board the plane to Brussels. I also had my "monthly visitor" so it just made me more moody. Again, I stayed out late with Cindy last night. I told her that I had a flight in the morning, but oh well. Might as well spend my last night in Nice with my friend and drinking and listening to live music at Wayne's Bar... and of course, staring at a cute Aussie who looked like Orlando Bloom!!
My cousin met up with me in the BRU airport. Brussels is our home-base while we visit Brugge and Amsterdam in the next two days. (Read more about home-base and other tips here). We were suppose to travel together but because of her schedule, she could only travel later than planned. So, instead, I went to Europe, travelled alone, and she met up with me in Brussels and we traveled together for the rest of the trip. She had trouble contacting me so her sister called me (calling me from the U.S.) and she was simultaneously communicating between me and my cousin. My cousin wasn't the only one had trouble contacting me during my trip so far. My friend who met up with me in Vienna and my friend in Nice couldn't contact me. Strange because the two guys I have a crush on could contact me; one from Hawaii and the other from... somewhere in Europe. ;) Anyway, when my cousin met up with me, the first thing she said to me, "You look tired." Well, duh! I was out late and I barely slept because I had to pack first once I returned to the hotel before getting some sleep. I think since I arrived in Brussels, I got sick. Lack of sleep and cold weather are the causes I would think. =(
Once my cousin and I dropped off our stuff at the Aris Hotel (great hotel, good location; right next to the Grand Place), we walked around and checked out the Christmas Market. I couldn't really enjoy it because it was too crowded and it's not as nice. I still like the one in Vienna. It's nice and very Christmasy and I can enjoy walking around and looking at what each stall has to offer. Oh, and in Brussels Xmas Market they sell the punsch in disposable cups and not a nice Christmasy mug like the one in Vienna.
Of course, I had to try one of Belgium's fruit beers; either the cherry or raspberry beer. I tried the raspberry beer and I liked it. Also, I missed belgian waffles but the ones I'm talking about are the round waffles that has crystalized sugars in them or something. I missed eating them so much from my first trip to Europe. They're so yummy!!
Again, there were guys staring at me here... just like in the other places I visited in Europe in the first trip and this trip. I will not forget how one guy was staring at me. It wasn't in a creepy way. Wow, his strong, staring blue eyes. I don't know how to explain but it was memorable. Hehe.
Well, it's still early but I'm going to sleep. I so need it right now especially after only two hours of sleep last night... or more like this morning. HA!
