Brugge, one of the 'Venice of the North'
December 24, 2007
Not too long ago I was researching for nearby places to visit for a day trip from Brussels and I found out about Brugge. It's known as "Venice of the North" but there are other places in Europe that's known as that also such as Amsterdam and Stockholm. I was looking what I would want to see in Brugge and I really wanted to see Minnewater Park. I'm glad I chose this place to visit. Brugge is now on my "favorites" list. =D When I visit Venice soon, I will see which "Venice" I like more.
Minnewater Park as well as Brugge itself is very nice. It's definitely a nice place for a romantic date or something. I was with my cousin to share this moment with but I don't roll that way haha. Anyway, my cousin and I walked around Minnewater Park and the area around it. It's so nice and tranquil. There were pretty canals and nice architecture too.
I was totally losing track of time. I mean, everytime I'm traveling, I always lose track of time. I forgot it was Christmas Eve until we went to the chocolate shops in Brugge and the chocolates were on sale. Mmmm... Belgian chocolates! Oh, and of all chocolates I found in Brugge, I found pen1s-shaped ones and also b00bs.
When we returned to the train station to head back to Brussels, we found out there's a train strike. That was the first time we experienced a train strike. Bleh. Did I mention I was very moody too? I still had my monthly visitor and it was very heavy. The cold weather wasn't helping at all either. RAWR!!
