Day 5 - Our day trip to Savannah
February 9, 2008
After an interesting night with lots of furry visitors we crawled out of bed pretty late. If you call 9 am late. Today we were planning on going to Savannah!!! After a delicious southern breakfast we headed out. Nice change was that neither of us had to drive because Eric (husband of my friend's friend) was driving. Of course we had one of the dogs with us. lol Don't worry! It was a small one. Smaller then some of those cats. hahaha.
After a short ride we got to Savannah, a beautiful city with a lot of old historic buildings and lots and lots of parks. There's one pretty much every other block which makes it even prettier. The weather was beautiful, sunny and warm. We found a parking spot and started walking around a little. I didn't know that Steph had found a used book store online and that that was where we were headed. Of course Marike (my German friend) was super excited. More books!! Yeahy!!! After some shopping, some picture snapping and more walking we decided to get something to eat! We went to a BBQ restaurant. The smells that came out of that place made my mouth water instantly. I had the pulled BBQ pork with green apple coleslaw. Very yummy. I'll have to figure out where that place was and post a review. So look out for that.
After lunch we headed back to Hinesville and enjoyed some comfortable TV time and played with the cats.
For dinner we had fresh shrimp that we bought from a guy that sold them out of a van at a gas station. Delicious stuff let me tell ya.
Another day of falling into bed at 10pm and sleeping all the way through the night. Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!
