10/28 Back in the USA Well nothing intervened to keep us in SE Asia so we are home and a bit jet lagged. Will be trying to organize and upload some pictures and finish the Myanmar stuff soon.

Back to Baan Orapin in Chiang Mai

Baan Orapin - this is the really nice, newer building in the back

The flight back to Chiang Mai was quick but very hot - the entire plane was busy fanning themselves for most of the flight.  We are staying another night at our favorite guesthouse, Baan Orapin, which we can’t say enough about.  The place is absolutely fabulous and Opas the owner is the most friendly and helpful man in Thailand.  If you are ever in Chiang Mai, you have to stay here!

Tomorrow we are off to Chiang Khong, the border town across the river from Laos.  We are trying to figure out if we should go on a semi-organized trip to Chiang Khong with the two day river ride on the slow boat to Luang Prabang or head out on our own to Huay Xai (the Laos side of the border) and figure out how to get to Luang Nam Tha and Muang Sing for trekking in the north.  Guess we will figure it out tomorrow….
