Skiathos

Skiathos is beautiful and the most widely known island of Sporades group.It is also the smallest - the distance from one end of the island to the other is only approximately 14kms. But it's also island with 60 beaches! The most of them are sandy , but my favorite is Lalaria. This was simple beautiful vacation, i needed rest so much, so we cruised island, enjoyed in beautiful Aegean sea, walking through small beautiful streets of Skiathos town, easy, relaxed and with big smile day by day :o)
As i said Skiathos is not so big and the best  for this island is to rent the skuter or car if you want to reach all the beaches and not depend of city bus. Buses are full ( and over-full if i can say ) , you can catch them every 15 minutes and come to one of your favorite beach , but too hot and too much people inside, believe me. You might be ask yourself "why by bus, or skuter? can't i go by walk?" Well, Skiathos has no beaches that you could reach by foot , 'cause most of them are "split" one from another by rocks and trees, and believe me you'll be scratched as cats get you if you try to "jump" around from beach to beach :o) So, rent skuter and take a tour to the beaches - on this way you'll see more than by bus, 'cause with bus you can get to about 15 beaches, and Skiathos has almost 60! so take adventure :o) And don't miss Lalaria beach , but for this tour you have to go by boat , it's only way to reach this beautiful beach  and it's worth  for this beauty :o)
For those who like party on the beach  there are lots of  during whole night  on most of them  with  various music and entertainmant , so  choose  some  for you  and enjoy! 
In Skiathos town , as it's specific for whole Greece, you'll find many tavernas and caffes with good food and refreshment, and enjoy and relax yourself siting by the sea, listening music of waves and birds hidden in kukunaries trees. Kukunaries is kind of pine tree and is specific for Skiathos and one of famous beaches there got the name for it. And little advice - try to find taverna where local people  eat -  the best  food  is allways  there  :o) 
During the night town of Skiathos is very alive, people siting in tavernas, restorans, cafes, on the street steps all around, walking from one part of town to another along the coast, and all shops are open during almost whole night ( to 4am ) , so sometimes you can't believe that so much people are on such small island :o)
So, everyone can find something for himself on this part of paradise, and if you go there i'm sure you'll enjoy as me and get back home relaxed and with happy smile on your face :o)))
