HONG KONG/CHINA TRIP OVERVIEW

Monday, March 19, we flew United Airlines to Hong Kong. 14 team members from four states linked up in Chicago. Due to the time difference, we arrived on Tuesday afternoon, March 20.

We spent two days sightseeing and enjoying Hong Kong. Thursday, March 22, we left Hong Kong, entered mainland China and traveled by bus to our hotel in Fengshun in eastern Guangdong.

Friday morning, March 23, we attended a special service at the church we helped build in Pantian, Guangdong in January 2005.

 Afterwards, we roamed Fengshun.

Saturday, we traveled to the work site at BaXiang and began construction. We worked alongside our Chinese brothers and sisters and build the walls to the church Saturday, March 24-Tuesday, March 27. Tuesday, March 27, we participated in a dedication service and said goodbye to our new Chinese friends.

Wednesday morning, March 28, we took a bus to Shantou and flew to Beijing. We explored the Beijing area from Wednesday evening to Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon, March 31, we returned home to the good old U.S.

TUESDAY HIGHLIGHTS

Victoria Harbor Waterfront/Dinner

We began our adventures by strolling two blocks down to Tsim Sha Tsui's waterfront prominade in time to catch the nightly Victoria Harbour laser show.

TST's Temple Street Night Market
Kowloon's docks on Victoria Harbor make it one of the world's busiest shipping centers.

Following the amazing light display, we returned to the Holiday Inn Golden Mile and had a relaxing international buffet at CafĂ© Vienna.

Temple Street Night Market

After dinner, we rode the MTR underground railway to Temple Street Night Market. It is a night market that comes to life when the sun goes down.  We bargained fiercely and had a blast! The night market is great entertainment and unbeatable for atmosphere. It is a one-of-a-kind place where you can watch locals dine on items that would make the TV show "Fear Factor" and enjoy musicians and singers perform popular Cantonese Opera numbers.
