Wanna wander, wanna plunder, just don’t let me slumber

In Berlin you can be just anybody. A rocker, a film star, an intellectual, a punk or just nobody.

Who cares. :)  Berliners learnt to tolerate almost anything. After all, which other city would so easily come up with a Love Parade?

Have a relaxing, meandered stroll in the quiet Eastern part, with fewer shopping centres. Then go to Fernsehturm (with a telecafe), then along the Unter die Linden, right to the Brandenburg Gate  and Tiergarten.  And of course Reichstag is a must! The glass dome, which was at first the subject of great controversy, has now become one of the newest landmarks in the city. If you have a chance • go up and admire the view from the top! :)

Then, finish the day in one of the cafes next to the Checkpoint Charlie.

But be careful not to be hated by your travbuddy for giving him/her such an extensive walk and hell of the work-out ;)

I can assure you that if you like to explore the unique "Berlin atmosphere" from the inside, you definitely should walk through its lively streets and squares. Especially in the evening!     Well, I won’t tell you, my friends, how I burst into a gay club and escaped even faster! I won’t tell you about the flavour of German beer and how I sank into the loungy aura of an night club. This you have to explore yourself.

For budget travellers I recommend the Eastener Hostel in the very centre of Berlin, within a walking distance to the main tourist attractions, great pubs and restaurants.

The place is "3C" - cheap, clean, cosy! :) Nicely organised & quiet. And the indisputable asset of the place is a friendly owner with a nice sense of humour! :) If i (again) come to Berlin i will definitely stay there!
