Highland Tour - Day 2
July 6, 2006
We picked up the Timberbush Tours tour bus at the Edinburgh Castle and met our guide Hamish. With a bit of traffic jam because a couple tour buses loading outside the castle plus some other tour buses arriving at the castle, an “efficient Scottish” police constable rushed us away from the castle a few blocks. Hamish was running around looking for his clip board. He looked all over the inside of the bus and ran back up the hill to the castle, only to return and find it amidst the luggage in the back. Once the clip board was found, we headed out of Edinburgh, north for the Isle of Skye. A few stops and a few hours later, we arrived at the ferry crossing, the Kyle Rhea ferry, and crossed in the rain. The Kyle Rhea old ferry boat across to Skye is one of the last manual powered swivel top ferries in the Scotland. Later, we arrived in Portree at our Bed and Breakfast, The Viewmount.
