The Summary
Sometimes having no expectations is the best way to travel. Upon embarking for The Philippines, the only research I did was to buy a used copy of the Lonely Planet in Bangkok, and speak with a friend that had travelled there a few years ago. After the first day of pouring rain and the first night in a crappy hotel room on the island of Palawan, I found myself questioning why I had come here. 5 weeks later, however, I find myself planning my next trip here.
