Going back in Medieval Times
Our tour begins in the city of Fez. It is the world's best example of a living medieval city. We visit Fez Jdid (New Fez) which was planned by the Mernids in the 13th century (just thought I would throw in a bit of history for you..;-) which included the Royal Palace and Gardens. We continued the tour by visiting the Jewish Quarters of the city and a synagogue(my first time in a synagogue-I am getting more ecumenical by the minute..:-).
The journey continued through narrow alleys of countless souks(bazaars). You need to experience it in order to "feel" the hustle and bustle of this community.
How narrow are the alleys? Let's just say the mules have the right away.They add such an authenticity to the ambiance.
Leather anyone.....the tanneries were an experience.
