So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia. (We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

olé!

San Cristobal is a lovely if touristy town but what the heck, theres lots of nice food and plenty of places to enjoy a cerveza or two. Mexico has lots of the more richer tourists in it and is a heck of a lot more expensive, pretty much on par with Costa Rica.

San Cristobal seems to be the home of the Beetle (as in the VW car, not little bugs). They are everywhere, somehow adding to the vibe of the place.

We enjoyed a few lazy days here, wandering around the market, sitting at sidestreet cafes watching the world go by and generally going over budget. It is big amber country here so there are amber jewellry shops everywhere. Simon haggled away with a little local dude and bought himself a piece of amber with a rather unfortunate scorpion that has been eternally preserved in the amber, poor thing should have taken a different route home.

Oh and for some reason I can`t stop saying `Olé` either....
