Our weekend away in Brissie didn't start brilliantly...on the tram on the way to the airport we got a text from Jetstar to say our flight had been delayed by 4 hours. Unfortunately, we'd chosenthe real budget tickets meaning we flew out of Avalon instead of Tullamarine. Avalon is nothing more than a barn, staffed by robotic barnyard animals. There is nothing to do, look at or read.

Oh well, having arrived in Brisbane at 2am we woke up Jordy to let us in and fell asleep!

The weekend was great fun with loads of catchups and laughter and a trip to the koala sanctuary. We saw Jordy and Gav's fabulous new home (very jealous) and met Brendan and Martina and the girls!

On the way back to Melbourne we'd checked in gone through to departures and were waiting for boarding when an announcement came over the tannoy.

..."Jetstar flight 666 to Melbourne Avalon has been cancelled". Bugger. Back at the check-in desks we found that fog had covered Melbourne and no flights were going there in the immediate future so we had to choose an alternative flight time for the day after and were taken into Brisbane CBD to what we expected to be a flea-pit hotel paid for by Jetstar....however! Jetstar put us up in the best hotel accom we'd been in since Costa Rica!

Next morning, having filled up on the compplimentary breakkie and hotel slippers and toiletries we went out to wander Brissie's streets before our flight. Cue thunder, lightning and heavy rain. Bugger.

Eventually back in Melbourne we laughed about the flights, had a piece of toast, looked at our holiday snaps and went to bed!
