An expensive overnight stop

The second boat took us from Labuan to Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei, or as everyone calls it, BSB. The second boat had arctic aircon and the second Scary Movie film on. How this movie got financial backing to become an actual film is beyond me.
So here we were, in Brunei. Not a lot going on here. We went straight to a restaurant with Steve and Jo, who we had left KK with, and they took us to a restaurant they had heard about. It was on the waterfront and had a good and wide menu but the prices were terribly high, we ended up spending as much on a meal there as we would have in England, and the food was nice but ordinary. We went away feeling pretty gutted that we had spent so much on one meal.
We then went for a walk around the centre and passed the huge mosque that we thought would be more grand given the money in this tiny country.
We stayed at the Terrace Hotel, which at B$65 (about 35 quid) was way over our budget but the only real option that didn't sound like a flea pit. We spent the rest of the evening vegging in front of the TV in our room, a real luxury when travelling!! We couldn't afford to go out anyway.
We left Brunei the next day, feeling like we had spent a weeks budget in one day and very disappointed with the rather dull place. We wish we had flown from KK to Kuching and not bothered visiting at all. Hardly worth that stamp in the passport... you have been warned.
