Waterfalls at Misol-Ha

So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia. (We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

Waterfalls at Misol-Ha

About 15 mins in the minibus from the Palenque ruins, we got  to the beautiful waterfall of Misoh-Ha. Walked along the back wall of the falls so we were walking behind the water! Very cool stuff!! The spray from the waterfall was lovely and refreshing, although it made the path very slippery even in our trainers.

We then made our way up a watery, rocky path to a cave at the top. Some people went right into the cave but I have seen too many horror films and didn`t fancy it. Plus our trainers would have been hard to dry out.

At the mouth of the cave was a very nice place to sit and admire the beauty of the waterfall and its pool while listening to the roar of the water tumbling down above us. There were a lot of people walking around the area but not that many up at the cave mouth. There were a few people having a swim in the pool too but we didn`t have the time. We were saving our swimming time for Agua Azul, next!!

From here, back in the minibus for an hour or so to Agua Azul and that swim.....
