So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia. (We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

Rabbit island

We took the boat over to Rabbit Island or Koh Tonsay to use the Khmer name. The boat took about 30 mintues. We arrived on a little piece of paradise - a small island with a few shacks set up selling seafood lunches, a few locals and a handful of tourists. After a short stroll around the end of the island, we found a bamboo 'bed' and a woman ran over and put a mat on it for us. This was free if we ate at her restaurant. Here we chilled out under the shade and read our books, with the water lapping on the beach just a few metres away. When it was time for a swim, the water was so warm and wonderful.

For lunch, we ate a huge plate of prawns cooked in peppercorns and some rice. Was delicious!! A lovely relaxing day and just wished we had known that we could have stayed here for the night, would have been a very quiet and chilled out evening! Instead we went back on the boat and spent the evening at the "El Dorado' restaurant, which served up Hungarian food! Was lovely and had a nice evening there with a few cheap drinks to help the evening along.
