Litres of wine and beer grace our table

So after leaving our home in the jungle with 3 aussie birds and a Dutchman, we all seemed to be heading the same direction, through road blocks, dodgy border crossings and a night in a town with no name, we ended up in Salta together. We spent 3 nights in Salta basically with the mission to drink our body weight and eat a lot of steak (well not me but everyone else seemed to enjoy it).

We found a great little restaurant that served up said steak and yummy chips and also had on offer a litre of wine for 7 pesos, thats just over a pound for a litre of wine people. As you can imagine, we proceeded to have a bit of a wild night out on the tiles on Saturday night, starting with a meal and lots of wine before heading home for a change of clothes.

6am snack anyone?
We then headed out to the going out street of Salta at around 11pm and continued on the beverages, this time in the form of copious amounts of vodka with speed, the Argentine version of Red Bull (just clear that up before any accusations). We continued onwards to a few dancy bars and strutted our stuff on the dance floors, all in a rather drunken manner. As the bar closed we were wondering why the Argentines call themselves `late nighters`thinking it was around 2am. It was in fact 6am and everything was shutting!! We walked in a very not straight line back to our hostel, with the gang picking up whopping great hot dogs to help manage the after-alcohol hunger. Back at the hostel (how we found it I will never know) we cooked up popcorn (yep thats right) before crashing out at 7am!

On Monday night, our last night together as a 6, we went out for another fab meal and more wine by the litre before heading back to the hostel at around 1am.

Again another late night with us all crashing out in stages between 3am and 6am!! With the aussies and Timo up at 930am for their bus, we were all feeling pretty rough and hungover on the day of departure.

Needless to say, our last day in Salta with our pals headed off to Iguazu was very quiet and strange. We had spent every day of the last month with them, mostly in the park and it was sad to lose our `family`. We had the whole day to waste until our 11pm overnighter bus to Mendoza and it was a struggle to stay awake all day after a few hours kip!
