So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia. (We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

Palenque Ruins

WOW!!! The Palenque ruins are amazing!!! (or Awesome if I were an American). They are huge, sprawling and just incredible. There were a heck of a lot of tourists at the site and it became a bit of a battle to get a shot of a ruin without a person in the picture but I think we did pretty well.

Wandered around for a few hours taking it all in and climbing up the temples that we were allowed to. Those Mayan people must have been very fit and very tall as the steps are so steep and high!! It was like a much more interesting step aerobics class. It is amazing to think that all this was built by hand, but come on, they must have had a JCB or something look at the size of the temples!!!

As it started to get really really hot, we headed back to the entrance to get our bus to the waterfalls.....
