Homeless drunks

So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia. (We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

Homeless drunks

As our flight was due at 5am Sunday morning, we packed our bags and left them in the hostel storage for the day and wasted the afternoon wandering around a very impressive shopping mall (somehow didn't buy anything) and then headed to a restaurant at about 9pm. From here on, we proceeded to get rather plastered, making the most of Chilean wine and enjoyed some very delicious sushi. We zig-zagged back to our hostel at 2am and (somehow) managed to order a cab to the airport. We have very blurred memories of checking in, which we did after finding it absolutely hilarious that our bags fell off our airport trolley, and I think the only reason we went to the right check-in desk was because it was the only one open. We were, as they say, pissed as farts.

The check-in girl got her revenge on the idiot tourists by seating us at the back of the plane surrounded by screaming kids. A little boy in front of us was one of those kids with that ABCD attention disorder things and was throwing tantrums, screaming and kicking the chairs, his little sister and his mum for the whole 7 hours. The kid sister joined in with the screaming and several other kids had a good attempt at keeping up. How delightful.
