Fuentes Georginas hot springs
Off we went today to the glorious hot springs just about 30 mins out of Xela on a chicken bus to Zunil. Hopped into the back of a pick-up truck that took us from the town through the mountains to the hot springs.
The pools were gorgeous and needless to say, hot!! It was like getting into a huge bath! Had a lovely soak in the springs and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area.
The ride there and back in the pick-up was just beautifeul, with Volcan Santa Maria in the distance and lots of other mountainy bits. The valleys were dotted with farmers working the fields, woman and children working there too tending to their crops. As we drove past, there were loads of bunches of spring onions being loaded into a truck and the air was filled with the smell of them.
Back to Xela for a curry and our last night ahead of our departure from this wonderful country tomorrow. I may cry when we leave.
