Crossing the border - ADVICE!!!

We took the bus from Bangkok to the border, to cross into Cambodia and onto Siem Reap. We took the local 'express' bus to the border (207 baht each) from the Mochit Northern bus terminal in Bangkok.
On arrival at Aranyaprathet, we took a tuktuk to the border for 80 baht. There was a tout there, IGNORE HIM! The tuktuk stopped at an office before we got to the border and a bloke with a clipboard came up to us, telling us to come into the office and relax etc and this was the place to get our Cambodian visas. We told the tuktuk driver to take us to the border and jus said 'no thank you' to the touts. DO THIS! They will come out with a visa example and say you can't get the visa on arrival. This is bollocks! (sorry, a lie). Our tuktuk driver eventually drove on and took us to the border, again saying we can't get a visa on arrival, and that we should go back to the office/consulate. IGNORE!!!
They are convincing but IGNORE THEM ALL!!
We went through Thai immigration, no problems, then walked through to the Cambodian side. And there it was....'visa on arrival' office to the right. And we paid $20 each for our visa instead of the 50 euros or $40 they wanted on the Thai side. You have been warned!!
