Caribbean vibes

So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia. (We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

Caribbean vibes

We arrived on Isla Colon, the biggest and busiest of the Bocas del Toro islands. It is the first time for both of us in the Caribbean and we were greeted by incredible heat and a very laid-back tropical feel. We found a hostel for the night, which we soon realised was full of very loud screechy Americans who are obvioulsy to young to drink in the States and taking full advantage here.

We ventured out to find some much-needed food and soon found that the booze is very cheap and everywhere does 2-4-1 on rum and cokes. Yippeee. We very quickly acquired a taste for the Caribbean rum and enjoyed a wonderful first meal of Caribbean-style fish, shrimps and coconut rice. Crashed out at 9pm very tired. And a bit drunk.
