Bogota
Arrived in Colombia`s capital after 20 hours on the bus!
A lot cooler here than the sweltering Cartagena, thankfully.
Bogota is a very nice capital city. We were expecting a bit of a rough and murky city full of dangers and dirt but it actually really great and has a good vibe.
We went to the gold museum (our first museum visit on this trip, oops!!) said to be the most important of its kind in the world. It was quite interesting and full of, well, gold stuff that is very old. One piece was dated as 400 b.c!
We also took a train up a very steep mountain that gave us an amazing view across the huge and sprawling city. There was a church at the top that was full of worshippers. A little old lady with her walking stick and traditional dress went past us on the way to the church having just walked up the bloody great mountain that we took the train up! Bloody tourists.
