The 'Big W' - day 4

So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia. (We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

The 'Big W' - day 4

After a particularly crunchy start to the day - the dust was everywhere - we hit the trail to Refugio Lago Pehoe. Again, the walk was across gently undulating sparsely forested bog and lakeland and passed between several small lakes, crossing some beautiful rivers where we topped up our bottles with the crystal clear, icy water.
The provisions are the best at Refugio Pehoe and we set up our tent and took a table in the campers-only refuge hut to enjoy a cup of hot tea just before the skies opened with freezing rain. More rice and packet soup, although this refuge has a little shop so we just HAD to buy some chocolate. And crisps. And cheese. And coke. And peanuts. Ummmm fooood.

Oh and yay got a hot shower! Although the hair didnt get washed as a) no shampoo and b) it is too cold for wet hair when camping in Patagonia. Oh the grease. How attractive. And Ria's is even worse.
