So this is our 2.5 year trip!! One year on the long and bumpy road of South and Central America. Our second year started off with 12 weeks in New Zealand, then we headed to Australia! Eagerly clutching our working holiday visas we stayed in Australia for one year for work and travel. The last leg of our 30-month trip was 3.5 months in SE Asia. (We are home now and oh how we miss travelling!)

Ahh, there it is!

The last 2 days in El Chalten gave us wonderful clear skies and so we actually got to see the mountains! Horah! Fitz Roy suddenly appeared, looming above the village as if by magic. Off we went into the park both days and did a couple of fantastic treks to view the mountains and take a lot of pictures of the same thing.

On the last day (Friday) we were on the last stretch of the walk when something on the mountainside caught Simon's eye. After staring at the same spot for a few minutes (I was staring at the wrong spot, getting "look near that tree" and getting the wrong tree) Simon watched a puma stride across a clearing and into a group of trees. He was incredibly lucky (multiply lucky by 20) to spot the puma as they are very (x20) difficult to spot in the wild. I just kept staring at the wrong bloody tree.

El Chalten itself is a bit of a bore really. When you are not trekking there really isn't much to do, so we were very thankful for the 2 days of clear skies and dry weather.
