Walking the Dog on the 'Back Strand', Falcarragh

Falcarragh Travel Blog › entry 1 of 1 › view all entries

I am blessed with a two mile long beach on the extreme north coast of Ireland just up the road from where I live. At least every other day I drag the hound there (the other day she drags me!) Its beautiful and wild and I thought someone might like to share the stroll!

Walking the Dog on the 'Back Strand', Falcarragh

Falcarragh Main Street

As often as possible I try and get some walking time on the 'back strand' - that's the local beach just outside the town of Falcarragh in north west Donegal - along with 'Boo' my dog. Apart from the very middle of summer on a hot day, a large 'crowd' might consist of 5 or 6 people spread over the two miles of sand.

Several times I've brought visiting friends along and each time I do this I experience the 'familiar' - anew.  So, I know you are busy... and it might turn to rain... and you have an urgent blog to finish...

But come on along the beach with me & Boo the collie cross (never the cross collie!). Its much better for you than what you had in mind.
Enjoy the stroll and watch out for the occasional big wave. I wouldn't want your computer to get too wet!  Enjoy. Paul
