will edit later, these pics you see are of the fortress that overlooks the fjord of oslo and the waterfront area next to the fortress. hoping to say more tomorrow.
Vigeland Park pic , goes with others below Fortress and waterfornt pics.
This was a fun somewhat sunny/warm afternoon(+6 degress), keep in mind the last time we were out it was at winterpark where it was -15 celsius so +6 or whatever was quite nice. We got to the park about 12:30 or so and headed towards the bridge 1st. there is an upper pond and a lower pond with a stream and waterfall between them and there lies the bridge. For a good shot of the waterfall, go to liz's vigeland pics(screenname = quest). Got to see a couple of guys sing in a latin based language, liz got tired of hearing it, but its cuz we were there for a while, where as I liked it more and thought it added to the experience(they only sang a couple of songs-repeated). I was able to get a pic of them as well as some video, and Liz got pics of me giving them $.
another Vigeland pic goes with others below fortress and waterfront photos...
The park is set up really nice for taking photos, there are three central locations for the statues so you did not have to walk around alot to get your fill. The sun and the direction of some of the shots had them turn out a bit different than say the statues on the other side of the bridge = facing the sun/ vs. not facing. At first it was kind of weird taking pics of all these NAKED statues but i got used to it quick(no choice really - there all naked :) Liz has a cool pic of an older lady walking her dog which was cool cuz just after that i got a chance to pet the dog(no pics of that) he was a happy lil guy :) I hear that the park is really crowded in the summer so i was glad we were able to get our shots without to many people in the way.
Nobel Peace Center
The lasts pics i will add will be of a person and a lizard and another group statue that is up in the air and those are towards the north side of the park as you leave. Most of the other statues are from east to west down the center of the park(largest park in Oslo). After Vigeland we drove down towards the waterfront and saw that area and the Fortress. You will see a journal entry for the fortrees and waterfront area a bit below, as soon as i add to it :)
When viewing all the pics(many many) at the bottom of all this , the first 2 will be from vigeland so it fits in with the journal and then the rest of the vigeland pics will pick up after you see the last of the city hall pictures, and before the 3 pics of me at Vigeland.
