Christmas in Kyoto. One of many temples I saw that day. Sorry they all sort of blend together.
Back to Kyoto this time to check out the city.  As I have said a bunch of times already I am not really big into temples and this is what Kyoto is all about.  So what did we do first in Kyoto?  We rode what might be the longest escalator in the world that goes to the top of a building near the JR Station.  We were looking for a place to eat and we just got on this escalator that never seemed to stop going up at a very steep incline.  Do not remember were we ate but the view up there was quite nice.

After we got back down we wandered randomly for a while.  We were getting tired as we had been traveling together for almost a month together without many breaks. I think at one point we had planned on going to the temple were Akiko's father is buries but I do not think we made it.  We did find a very large temple and noticed a lot of commotion as some sort of ceremony was just ending.  It was odd to watch all these monks solemnly walk out of a temple dressed in traditional clothes and quickly grab for their Ipods and cell phones.  After a few hours of wandering around temples it was time head back to Osaka for some friends and family time.
