Castle Rock

Took a run back up 128 to see the areas I missed on an earlier trip there.  Went down Castle road and took pictures of Castle Rock and the towers. It was here that Chevrolet filmed a great commercial. They flew a car and filming crew to the top of the tower and did the commercial. Unfortunately it got quite windy and the helicopter could not fly them down so they spent the night stranded on top of this rock tower.

Along the banks of the Colorado is a large fancy dude ranch/resort. The owners have done some extensive research into the filming history of the area and have built a small museum. They have collected movie posters and interesting artifacts of the hundreds of films and commercials produced in the area. Quite interesting and it makes you want to see the films to once again enjoy the sights of the area around Moab. A more recent film done here was the car going over the cliff in Thelma and Louise and I had driven to that very site.
