More desert driving with some small mountains delivered me to the Midland RV Park at the end of this, the first month of my RV travels. Hope you are enjoying the trip and stay with me because I have more years to report.
While in Midland, I visited the Confederate Air Force Museum which changed names to the Commemorative Air Force this year and moved to Harlington, TX. The museum is quite well done with a good history of the two world wars from an aviation standpoint. The actual plane displays were a bit disappointing with not as many interesting planes as I had expected. The highlight was a completly restored B 17 bomber which is one of the very few still flying. Sentimental Journey is it's name and I have seen it fly at several West Coast air shows. It's a beauty.
Also at Midlandis an Oil Museum that was fantastic. Given all of the Texas oil money in this area, it's no wonder that they spared no expense in the construction of this museum.
