Roswell, NM., UFO
From Alamogordo I went through miles of desert fighting a strong wind to Artesia, NM where I parked for a few days. To the north, I visited Roswell, the site of the alleged crash landing of an UFA back in 1947. A museum is in town loaded with documentation and interviews of people who were there at the time. You can’t leave without having questions in your mind…..Did a UFO really land here?....
South of Artesia is the highlight of my first month on the road, Carlsbad Caverns National Park. What a fantastic site to see, 750 feet under the surface are miles of beautifully lighted caverns. You can do a self guided tour or go with a guide to areas not open to the unguided. I took it and the areas that were toured with a guide were quite a bit better than the self guided areas. Another one of my don’t miss places to see.
