Well, back in March the swell kept coming though not as consistent. I would say it was a typical season. Nothing to report but many long surf trips down the coast to report. It was not until around September when the first winds and ground swell began to pulse at a faster rate with greater intensity. The winds, yeah, usually not the best behavior or the right direction but a spot was always there if you could find it.
The surf pulse.
Mid November, a quick swell drop came that lasted a week or so, but winds remain to flow in the right direction. With the ASP season and tournament at full swing in Hawaii, Californians turned our heads to Hawaii, yep, solid swells hitting the Hawaiian coast left and right only gave preparation to every surfer in California to start plannign the next trip either down south or even Mexico. This year I did not make the trip down to Baja and I beleive I missed quite the opportunity but I Nor Cal was gracious to me, to us.
Nor Cal, Pumping!
Nor Cal's time started with an overhead swell that laste for days, winds reaimained in the right direction and surfers began to miss work, be late to places, come up with weird excuses, practically put aside our mundane life to enjoy nature.
This are some pictures of Norcal dreaming.
