Anita & Fabiola
Tonight Anita and I and some of her friends got together in Sopocachi at Ramiro's apartment. Ramiro is Fabiola's boyfriend. He has a nice place near the top floor of a deluxe apartment building in the middle of Sopocachi, the most international and nicest area of downtown. We were waiting to go out to a club until he had finished watching the Formula 1 race which was scheduled for 11 pm. So we had some drinks and talked until the race came on tv and then Ramiro was completely occupied. At midnight we finally left and went to Zona Sur where Anita, Javier and Carola and Fabiola live, to a place called La Gitana (The Gypsy Woman) which is the most happening place in the whole area. That was evident from the crush of people. We went in two separate taxis and didn't find the others until much later. Luckily we found a small table near the back bar but there was still hardly any room and we were constantly jostled and pushed around by the people going by. The cigarette smoke was intolerable and it was very hot. Oh for smokeless bars and restaurants! I miss this very much. Just a bit after the band came on to play Anita said she wanted to leave and I agreed with her. It would have been more fun if we had gone out earlier but the group was forced to wait until the Formula 1 was over. Still, on the whole, an amusing and fun evening.
