I believe in the existence of ice fog

The white stuff on the bush is not snow, it's ice fog.

We missed 3 school days because of the snow, and 2 weeks because of the ice, now 3 more days because of… ICE FOG?!?!?!  What is ice fog?

Ice fog is this weird phenomena that happens when a very thick, dense fog moves in and flash freezes on most everything it touches.  It’s beautiful, to say the least, but it really makes a mess on roadways.  One morning, the fog didn’t lift until well after school-cancellation deadline.

Because of all these school cancellations, we needed to make up a total of FOURTEEN days, which would have put my school year into late June.  BLECH!  To help whittle down some of the days, my district voted to have school, on a Saturday.  No kidding.  So, due to all this weather, I taught a full day of school (hour early dismissal) on a Saturday.  You know what, in second grade, it really was quite fun.  The Saturday we made up was beautiful and we spent most of the day outside in our woodland outdoor classroom.  Don’t get me wrong, though, I never want to teach another Saturday again.
