Three Island Tour - part I : Kalymnos
Today we went on another excursion, the 3-island tour to Kalymnos, Pserimos and Platy. Kalymnos is known as the "Sponge" island. You can get sponges everywhere. We left Kos-town with a sailboat early in the morning and sailed to Kalymnos. There was a lot of wind and the sea was very wild... luckily we did not get sick! After 2 hours in the waves, we were welcomed in Pothia, Kalymnos by loud **bangs**. It was easter that they in Greece and there are fireworks and even dynamite explosions all day :).
In Pothia we first visited a sponge-factory and of course bought some sponges. In the factory they showed how they clean the sponges and how they cut them in a round shape. After that we got some free time and walked around the town. It is a beautiful small town. I bought some souvenirs, of course a fridge magnet, as I collect them :).
After a few hours we went to the boat again and headed for Pserimos.
