Winter in Upper

Ohio winters can be brutal!  You have it all - snow, cold, wind, ice, and rain!  Oh and the occassional sunshine!  It can also be beautiful!  The ground can be covered in a blanket of white crystals.  When the sun shines, the crystals glitter!  There is nothing more winter beautiful than fresh fallen snow that hasn't been tracked by man or beast.  Find a small unfrozen stream, and though there isn't much color, it is a peaceful sight.  On days when the sun is shining, the contrast of the white snow and the blue sky is amazing!

Today is a typical winter day!  The sun is shining, and the sky is blue.  The temperature is hovering around freezing.  There isn't wind, and a blanket of snow covers the ground!  The roads are, for the most part, clear and dry (except for the areas of melting snow).  And where is my camera?  At the shop for a cleaning and check up!  Just a walk around my neighorhood would produce some amazing winter pictures!

Instead, I took some pictures in early January.  There aren't many, but just some to give you idea of our winters.

Even after writing this blog, I'm still more than ready for warm temperatures and sunny skies!
