Old Man Winter visited my hometown over the past couple days! This time we were blanketed with a 9" to 10" snowfall. The freezing rain and ice fell further to the south allowing our area to experience just snowfall. And boy, did the snow flakes fly! The heaviest snow fell around daybreak making travel to work difficult.
Schools were closed, and by the early afternoon, so was my workplace. City, county, and state crews were out plowing and treating the roads with most starting the evening of the night before. Large snowpiles adorned the downtown area. The city and shop owners spent most of the morning trying to clear the sidewalks.
For several hours, the neighbors (including my husband) worked to clear each other's driveways.
One of my favorite spots to photograph is the historic Indian Mill. The red building against the snow white makes for some beautiful pictures. It didn't fail me today, and the river was also very pictureque. This is just a very quiet area to visit and find solitude with nature. Somehow, I find this my reflection spot no matter what season it is.
Another favorite area is the Upper Sandusky reservoir. Today not too many had ventured into the parking area. During the late afternoon hours, I found the sunset to beautiful setting over the white winter wonderland. Today with my husband at my side, we were just glad to be warm taking in the sights from the vehicle.
