Remarkable Rio de Janeiro - Enjoy Backdrop, Beaches & Beauties

Below is a poem written by Sonia Paz Baron-Vine in 2006 about the remarkable city of Rio de Janeiro. It captures some of the beauty, sounds, nature and magic of this one-of-a-kind place.

Dawn in Rio

Sonia Paz Baron-Vine

As I walk along the shore
a red sun rises
in the horizon over the sea…

a magical dawn in
Rio
the hills gently steam in the dawn
and colorful birds fly by…

the music still in my memory
from last night, the bossa novas
and the saudades, the fried bananas
and the coconuts a cornucopia of
fruits and flowers...a paradise…

The colors of the mosaics on the walkway
are shinning in the sun
a warm breeze surrounds me
and I feel blessed.
