My best friend lives here since 5 years ago and I was here before for his wedding, when i was chosen to be his "best man" jajaja... it should be his "best woman" but i can not take that name :) because that important place belongs to lovely Jennie, his wife. That was a real long distance romantic love with the happy end.
Salem is a tranquil city. It has a pretty small downtown with the most important shops, stores and eatteries. As anywhere else in the US you can find here international restaurants specially Central American: Mexican and Salvadorian and Asian: Hindu, Chinese, etc. The city is home of Willamette University and it also has a very nice Riverfront where you can take your children out to play, there´s a carrousel.
On my first day at my friends home i also got to met Kasuki, their quiet Japanese exchange student for a month, he was much nicer and friendly than Dr. Cat... that is how i later called the house cat... her original name is Chocho, whose name comes from one of Ecuador´s cereals. So Dr. Cat was her first days on heat, that meant... bad mood, scratching and getting jealous of everyone visiting, it was specially funny whith Johna, my friend´s dear nephew. Chocho was following and observing every movement that the kid did, from a reasonable distance, it was funny, it looked like she was studying his movements. Chocho didn´t get very close to me till days later when i played with some toys and specially when she found my warm feet every night at my room. She must be still missing me by now.
