USS Pampanito submarine
During WW II there were 56 US active submarines and most of them never returned to port. The USS Pampanito is one of the very few that was not destroyed and survived this and a couple of few missions. This submarine participed in several other wars and it sunked 6 Japanese ships.
Normally i am not into military stuff but i tought that the idea of visiting inside a submarine would be good to see how they work.
When i visited it was pouring dogs and cats so when i was inside, the submarine moved a lot, that helped to have a little bit the real feeling of how it would be to be under the water. When on duty, the submarine had a crew of more than 60 marines and officers, all of them distributed on its 7 large cabins: Torpedo storage, maneuvering cabin, engine cabin, sleeping cabin, dinning room, officer´s cabin and torpedo expulser cabin.
Because of the rain i could not make any picture from the outside. The entrance costed $9 and you get an audio tour where you get some narrations of the real crew members and officers.
