I took a walk from Noe Valley down to Castro St. Once i was there the street was closed because they were making a movie and there was a lot of stuff like if it was a hippie street market and there were actors dressed as like in the 60´s. The movie is about Harvey Milk, a former supervisor of San Francisco who was shoted with his partner the major of the city, just because they were guy.
The actors were doing some rehearsals again and again, i talked to some staff and they told me Steven Seagal plays Mr. Milk, but i didn´t see him, they were supposed to fill every day during the week as it was nice weather. I took some shots until they told me i was not allowed too. It was great to see how a movie is made! i got the real and complete California experience (Hollywood style) ha ha ha
This area of Castro is well know for being the GLTB area of the city, so you find libraries, hair salons, shops, etc focused on guys life style.
I also passed by Castro Theatre, where according to my dear friend Chris, before every movie theres a guy playing the piano who appears from down the floor, like the old times.
In Haight there´s this hippie style shops very colorfull and there are houses of some of the music legends, i passed by Jimmy Hendrix house. Once i got to the famous Haight - Ashbury i was kind of disappointed, i expected it to be something much more attractive, but well i guess the attractions there is just something you can not touch because this is more an icon of the city since there is the birth place of hippie style.
On the shops they use to sell hippie stuff, t-shirts and of course looooots of weed pipes in many shapes, designs and colors.
