Heading over to Asheville, NC. to see the Biltmore Estate. It's an hour and half drive from Gatlinburg. We will drive Hwy 321 to Interstate 40 south to Asheville. It's 30 degrees in Gatlinburg this morning. According to the Weather Channel we will be under a wind advisory again this morning, from 7:00 am until 4:00 am Wednesday morning.....with gust between 30 and 40 mph. The wind woke me up making a wild sound as it blew thru the trees outside. There is a chance of ice and snow Wednesday morning...we would like to see a liitle snow before we leave back home to Florida!!!!
All I can say is WOW!!!!, Biltmore Estate is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by a 100,000-acre forest.
Boasting four acres of floor space, the 250-room mansion featured 33 family and guest bedrooms, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces, three kitchens, and an indoor swimming pool, gym, and bowling alley. It was equipped with every conceivable amenity, from elevators to refridgerators, washer and dryer.
