Nationals vs. Cardinals
Three friends and I set out for DC to watch a late season game against the Washington Nationals and the Saint Louis Cardinals. I'm not really a fan of either team, but I do enjoy watching Albert Pujols play, but it was a nice day nonetheless.
We started our trip from Martinsburg, WV and headed to the Shady Grove Metro station. It's only about an hour drive, so it's definitely easy to get into the city in no time. We were able to take metro all the way to RFK (which is on the other side of DC from us), so it's really convenient and nice. Sometimes, to me anyway, it's a hassle to drive in the District if you don't have to.
RFK Stadium itself is rather old, but it's still a fun place to go. We enjoyed typical ballpark food and sang along to all of the corny songs in between innings. The last season for Nationals baseball at RFK was in 2007, so I was happy to be able to see a game there in 2005 and in its last season. Hopefully the new ballpark will be awesome and I'll get to go there soon!
