Enjoying a Chicago Dog before heading off to the Museum of Science and Industry.
Spent the day just running errands with our friend and old Atlanta neighbor, Steven, and enjoying a famous Chicago Dog at this place near Midway Airport. Went to see Body Worlds at the Museum of Science and Industry which was just AWESOME! It's a great exhibit of actual bodies that have been treated in a special way (people who have donated their bodies to science) that the skin is idssolved and the remainder of the body solidified. I know there are a few people out there that have protested the exhibit and called it gross - but it was one of the most valuable learning experiences in my adult life to date! The bodies are displayed in various poses that allow you to see the nervous and circulatory systems, the organs, various abnormalities, diseases (smokers, here's a chance to see on an actual person what those cancer sticks you puff on are doing to your lungs!) and how they impact or allow us to do the things that we as humans can do. If you get the chance to go - do it! You won't regret it. Afterward, spent time touring the rest of the facility which had a great collection of transportation relics from over the years (trains, planes, automobiles, etc).
