Welcome Now My Friends to the Show that Never Ends
I am very lucky to live in what I consider Paradise. My back yard is full of wonderful animal birds & insects of every size shape & color to watch & marvel at every day. I spend hours with camera in hand, smile on my face going from the front to the back of Old School’s Yard of Animals. There is such a wide variety of the little critters; some I only have the pleasure to see once. Others come by on a daily basis; really I do think it is the same one, if not that’s ok I thank them for stopping by anyway. There are representatives of all the 6 major Animal Groups & a few of the minor ones (I think being caused by being TOOOO close a family).
Mammals- are a class of vertebrate animals whose name is derived from their distinctive features, mammary glands, which they use in feeding their young. They are also characterized by the possession of sweat glands, hair(not all of them), three middle ear bones used in hearing (What???), and a Neocortex region in the brain.

Some have evolved MUCH more than others.
Birds- are bipedal, endothermic (warm-blooded), vertebrate animals that lay eggs. There are around 10,000 living species, making them the most diverse tetrapod(big word for 2 legs & two wings) vertebrates(segmented spinal column & well developed brain.
Reptiles- , or members of the class Reptilia, are air-breathing, cold-blooded( not too cold they live in FLORIDA) vertebrates that have skin covered in scales as opposed to hair or feathers. They are tetrapods (having or having descended from vertebrates with four limbs) and amniotes, whose embryos are surrounded by an amniotic membrane (makes you feel warn & fuzzy all over doesn’t it?).

Fish- are aquatic vertebrate animals that are typically ectothermic (previously cold-blooded), covered with scales, and equipped with two sets of paired fins and several unpaired fins & a STRONG dislike for any bait presented by Old School Bill.
Amphibians- such as frogs, toads, salamanders, newts, and gymnophiona, are cold-blooded animals that metamorphose from a juvenile, water-breathing form to an adult, air-breathing form. It is true if you hold them they will wet on you from the pure joy of personal contact.
Insects- are a major (necessary pain in the BUTT-They all like ME) group of arthropods and the most diverse group of animals on the Earth, with over a million described species more than half of all known living organisms with estimates of un-described species as high as 30 million, thus potentially representing over 90% of the differing life forms on the planet.
All Names & Occupations of the Old School Animals are TRUE except for the ones that Aren’t!
I will add more pictures all the time as my little Animal Friends stop by to visit.
