On the buses

Today was a day of mostly travelling above ground on the tour bus. My friend Denise had to pick up her train ticket, so we headed up to Paddington. Funnily enough we ran into another friend there, Stef, who was headed out to visit with a friend of hers. After that, we headed off to catch a hop-on-hop-off city bus on Baker St. We ended up getting off at Picadilly Circus and took pictures, at least between my checking in the Virgin, Boots and HMV stores. ;)
After Picadilly, we ran through the rain and caught the bus as far as Big Ben and Parliament, passing by Trafalgar Square as it was poring. Once we were off the bus, the rain pretty much stopped and suddenly there appeared this fabulous, almost-full rainbow that stretched right behind Big Ben.
We then walked around the outside of Westminster Abbey, taking pictures but nixing going in so as to take advantage of the sun! We caught the bus again and got off on the other side of the Thames, taking pictures of Parliament before heading over to the London Eye.
We did just a standard ride on the Eye and managed to get some decent photos before it started to rain again. Really great view, just wish it'd been clear!
After we got off the Eye, and before heading back to where we were staying in the South East of London, we went back to the other side of the bridge to get pictures of a lit up Parliament. Very cool.
And yes, we managed to survive our train/tube travel today with very little mishap! <g>
