So off we went to the Abbey gate and paid to get in for an hour tour of the ruins, hoping to get directions from the tour guide up to the Tor. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of what had gone on when the Abbey used to be in use.
The three of us followed behind him after taking some pictures and got some vague directions on how to walk up to the Tor, assuming we didn't catch the bus that it seemed took you to the bottom of the hill. Ended up that by the time we got up to the place you're to get the bus, it had already gone. We decided to walk, and tried to follow the practically non-existant signs. Finally we got to a point where we could see the Tor clearly from a farm gate, but could go no further. We were running low on time to get back so we took pictures from there and walked back toward the Abbey.
We still had a little bit of time and decided to get some lunch as we were all hungry. I had the obligatory fish and chips, so very good when it's that fresh! Once we wolfed down our food and paid our bills, we quickly made our way back to where the bus was to get us, and then we were on our way back to Wells...
