The Adventure Begins...

I landed early at Heathrow and managed to get myself to my hotel with little trouble. While my friends went about their business for the day, I spent my first day in London (sunny no less!) visiting a couple of spots that I wanted to see and that my friends either had already seen or might not have wanted to see. I'm pretty sure I travelled the most of the downtown area of London by tube and I never once got lost. Go me!
I first went to grab my train tickets up at Paddington station. I took a couple of pictures inside the station, bought some books I wanted and then grabbed a great sandwich from a restaurant/kiosk called "Uppercrust".
From there I hopped between train lines to get over to St. Paul's and took pictures outside, none inside since they don't allow it. Interestingly enough, at least for me, all I kept thinking as I looked at the gold in the ceiling and in statues was how many people could have been fed with all that ornateness.
Once I was done there, made my way over to the Freemason's Hall and took pictures of the front of it. For those who may wonder why I was doing that, it is used as the front façade of MI-5 headquarters (the real one is actually closer to the Thames) for the British tv show "Spooks".
After that I walked through Soho (briefly glancing in the windows of the very expensive shops!) and caught the train at Covent Gardens to make my way to Harrod's. I took some pictures outside and ran into people protesting Harrod's using fur, or something like that. I only did the first floor and bought myself a pen as it was absolutely crazy in the store at the time.
I then got back to Heathrow and hung out for a while at my friends' hotel, had dinner, then went back to my hotel to crash.
