Let me just say: Rome is awesome!! I am really into ancient history and Rome is the best place to see some really awesome ancient things. Anyway, we got to Rome and made our way to our hostel, Alessandro Downtown. It was really awesome. One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Right next to the train station and also it has a sister location where you can go at night and get free pizza and where we watched the World Cup semis. Our first day we went to the Spanish steps to meet a girl that we had met in our hostel in Florence and who was traveling alone. The we did a little walking tour: Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Forum, Colosseum. All of the above were awesome! The fountain was really amazing (and a good way to cool off). Walking through the forum was like walking back in time. You could just vizualize the streets and buildings where Caesar and Maruc Aurelius used to walk. The next day we went to Vatican City (we saw the Pope!). It was cool. We stood in line for the museums so we could see the Sistine Chapel. It was pretty cool, but I liked St. Peter's Basilica better. It was really awesome. One of the biggest churches I have seen. We also went down to the tombs of the popes. Vatican City is a must when you go to Rome.
