Costa Rica

Costa Rica, second Miami...yes I think so. If you´re keen to take part in professionally run Eco Tours, Costa is the place. For me the key to Costa was catching up the Mum and Phil for a week.

We headed to the north east coast where green turtles lay eggs (100 or so) on the beach at night plus a jungle tour. Mum and Phil sure seemed to be enjoying the time away from Canberra.

Phil and I hired a car for a two day road trip, opting out of the tour bus. Destination Arenial Volcano (active), hot springs and a canopy tour on zip lines. A memorable two days, the volcano sure did put on a show, Phil got the great pictures. The high wires above the jungle canopy, locally known as Zip Lines enable you to travel at up to 60km/h over 400m at a time (total 2.5km). Awesome fun, I´ll do that again.
